Every year, fresmen take a trip to Alcove Springs.  This is a cross curricular Geocaching Adventure which the MHS has been doing for over 15 years.  Freshman instructors have activities for them to participate in as they geocache.   Instructors and senior students help supervise caches for the freshmen to find.  Alcove Springs is the perfect location for this adventure, as it is in our community and provides the historical Oregon Trail site where the Donner-Reed party stopped. Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world.
