The USD 364 Board of Education met on Wednesday September 12th and approved the hours of operation for the walking track in the new Activity Center along with a policy about the use of district facilities in general. These policies can be found by clicking on the links at the bottom of this article.
The walking track will be open beginning Monday September 17th in the morning from 6:00 to 7:30 and in the evening from 5:30 to 9:00 on nights when there are not activities scheduled. You are welcome to come walk the track during events, but you will be required to pay the regular entry fee for the scheduled events. District passes can be used for most but not all events. The walking track is only open on Monday through Friday.
Each lap around the walking track is 0.085 miles. 11.66 laps around the walking track is the equivalent of one mile.
Patrons will access the walking track through the doors at the top of the stairs on the north side of the building. This is not the "Bulldog Entrance" by the main office and cafeteria. This set of doors will be the primary entrance to the Activity Center.
Children under the age of 18 must have adult supervision in the walking track area. Parents will not be allowed to drop their children off early in the morning and have them go to the walking track area.
There are video cameras in place in the walking track area and in the hallways near the walking track and these cameras are recording all activity in these areas.
The policy approved by the Board of Education related to the use of district facilities prohibits the use of district facilities, property, and/or supplies for personal or corporate profit without express written permission from the Superintendent.
The USD 364 Board of Education also reserves the right to adjust the hours of operation for the walking track and access to the walking track in general based on misuse or abuse of the facilities, lack of appropriate supervision of children, or other problems that may arise.
We are proud of this new facility and we are excited to provide this opportunity to the patrons of USD 364. We hope that you will take pride in this facility and help us take care of it for many years to come.
