Our Feature Classroom of the week (January 25-February 1) is 7 grade Physical Education.

This course is designed to provide adolescents with knowledge and skills needed to engage in a physically active, healthy lifestyle throughout life. Three areas of focus in the course are: 1) health related fitness, 2) lifetime physical activity, 3) health/ wellness concepts and skills. The curriculum consists of four, three-week segments for each area. Students receive three weeks of instruction in each of the three areas every nine weeks

The class is taught by Mrs. Mary Kessinger Wassom and Mrs. Vicki Smith.  Their current class projects include: Folk dancing. Mrs. Wassom says the dance unit is fun and a nice way to get them out of there comfort zone. Her favorite thing about the class is “watching the kids trying something not strong in.”  Mrs. Smith says she enjoyes the unit because is is something out of the ordinary, and lost art.  Her favorite thing about the unit is "seeing the students enjoy dancing once they get over their shyness."
