Jacob Backus was chosen to play in the 2019 Shrine Bowl. The shrine bowl is an all-star high school senior football team, East vs West. Coaches nominate players and a panel of shriners make the final decision. Jacob will be playing for the East team!
Jacob is a senior at Marysville High School. He is involved in football (wide receiver, cornerback, kick and punt returner), Basketball (point guard), and Baseball (out field); and he is also in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). He was chosen by the Topeka Capital Journal as a 1st team WR selection, 1st team all honor senior football selection, and 1st team all NCKL offense and defense.
Jacob’s parents are Brandon and Amanda Rials. He told us that his biggest influence is his mom. His future plans are to play college football, and at this time he is undecided on where he will be going. Jacob’s favorite college football team is Oregon, his favorite professional team is the San Francisco 49er’s, and his favorite athlete is Jerry Rice.
