From the Desk of Mr. Wheeler

December, 2015

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is looking forward to a great holiday season.  I know we always say that time goes fast, but I guess that is because it truly does. I know I am very excited to spend a little time with family and friends and maybe some good cooking.  Christmas break is right around the corner, that of course means the end of the semester.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and had some time to reflect on the many things that we should be thankful for. With the events going on around the world in Europe and the Middle East, I am truly grateful for the gifts that I have here.  I am very thankful that I can work with your children on a daily basis and help them to be successful people. I am also thankful for the great staff that we have here at MES and in USD 364. And I am thankful for the great community that we live in that cares for our children.

With the end of the semester quickly approaching, please discuss with your students there grades and how their classes are going. It is important that they know you are interested in their success. Please encourage them to try their best, even when it gets tough. Remember our theme is “GOT GRIT” and we are trying to teach our students to do their best all the time, and to not give up.

So far this fall has been very pleasant and I want the kids to be outside all the time. However it will get cold soon, so please be aware of what you kids wear to school and make sure they have a coat with them. We will go outside for recess every day except in extreme cases of cold or wet weather.

I hope everyone enjoys their Christmas season and please stay safe and healthy.
