Tavis Desormiers grew up in Silver Lake, KS and attended
grades K-12. He attended Allen County Community College for
two years on a baseball scholarship then moved on to
Washburn University and continued to play baseball while
pursuing his degree in elementary education. After graduation,
he accepted his first teaching position with Wabaunsee school
district. He completed his Master of Arts in Building Leadership
through Kansas State University and accepted a position with
Trego Community Schools in WaKeeney as the K-8 principal
and junior high athletic director. After many years in that role,
he began the process to receive district level licensure through
Fort Hays State University. He completed his schooling and
accepted his current position as USD 208 Superintendent.
