Superintendent Update:
I want to take a moment to provide some information in regard to last week’s situations that disrupted learning but more importantly caused concern for student/staff safety. As a leader, I believe it is vital to be solutions centered when analyzing negative situations. It is extremely important that we evaluate all of the events, processes, and procedures that happened leading up to and during the entire week. Make no mistake, these events are not acceptable….We failed as a system. With that being said, we will work both hard and together to ensure that changes if needed are made, processes and procedures are understood, as well as carried out going forward.
Over the next few months, we will hold a variety of meetings with multiple stakeholder groups.
First, all student organization/club sponsors will meet to review procedures, processes and next steps going forward.
Second, building leadership teams and site councils will meet to have similar discussions as well as reviewing template materials for crisis situation explanations to parents.
Third, District Leadership team members will meet to discuss all items from BLT and BSC meetings.
Fourth, after District Leadership Team members meet a District Site Council meeting will be held to share information.
Finally, this information will be shared with the BOE hopefully at our January meeting. If new procedures and practices are proposed - implementation will begin during the second semester.
Both buildings will discuss these issues during upcoming faculty meetings with all staff.
Lastly, the administrative team is working on communication templates for crisis and special situations/circumstances. Throughout the next month, the administration will strive to provide more awareness of procedures and terms used in these types of situations.

The district would like to give a big thanks to our local and county law enforcement agencies. It has been a difficult past two days - local PD immediately came to our assistance yesterday - Police Chief Simpson, Sherriff Ackermann and officer Escalante attended last nights meeting to provide guidance and support for the BOE. Both groups provided a presence today for the wonderful Veterans Day Program as well as throughout the school day! Very fortunate and extremely thankful to both.
Go Bulldogs!
